Detroit Lions vs. Atlanta Falcons first half open thread

The Detroit Lions find themselves in unfamiliar territory. One of nine undefeated teams, Detroit is already alone atop the NFC North, a full game ahead of both the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers.

But Week 3 presents their biggest challenge to date. The Atlanta Falcons are in town, and they, too, are undefeated. The Falcons are looking to make it three in a row against NFC North opponents, as they have already beaten the Bears and Packers in back-to-back weeks.

The last time the two teams met, it was in London and Detroit pulled out a last-second win after Matt Prater nailed a game-winning 48-yard field goal as time expired.

A lot has changed since that 2014 game, but both teams remain relevant and Sunday’s game may have a huge impact on how the NFC plays out in 2017.
