Is it safe to watch football again?

It’s Monday night, which means there’s football on again. It’s hard to look football in the face against after what it did to us on Sunday. But time goes on, and the pain of a Detroit Lions loss slowly fades away.

Maybe tonight’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals will help. After all, a Cowboys loss doesn’t just mean that Dallas is 1-2, but it also make the Lions’ win over the Cardinals in Week 1 look a little better. It’s never a bad night to watch the Cowboys lose.

Of course, with the way thing are going in Week 3—all non-Lions NFC North teams winning, the Patriots mounting an improbable comeback, etc—we probably won’t all be rewarded with a Cowboys loss. But what the hell? Let’s watch and hope.
