Thursday open thread: What is the best Week 1 NFL matchup?

What game, outside of Lions-Cardinals, are you most looking forward to?

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

OMG, you guys. It’s Thursday, which means I’m so excited about the start of the NFL season that I just used a third grade-level acronym to start this article.

The NFL offseason is brutal and unforgiving. We’ve had to sit through two devastating suspensions, two former, disgruntled Lions players slamming the franchise, a nail-biting contract negotiation, a disgraceful Name Bracket tournament and months and months of nothing but talks about Lions regression in 2017.

But all that is done and football is finally back tonight. I know we’re all excited for Sunday’s game between the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals, but if you’re like me, you can’t wait to just be completely overwhelmed by football on Sunday. So today’s Question of the Day is:

What Week 1 game, other than Lions-Cardinals, are you looking for to the most?

Here’s a list of the games for reference:

Chiefs at Patriots
Jets at Bills
Falcons at Bears
Ravens at Bengals
Steelers at Browns
Jaguars at Texans
Raiders at Titans
Eagles at Washington
Colts at Rams
Seahawks at Packers
Panthers at 49ers
Giants at Cowboys
Saints at Vikings
Chargers at Broncos

My answer: Seahawks at Packers. Not only does this involve a fellow NFC North team, but it should be a good measuring stick for both franchises involved. Seattle and Green Bay are both expected to compete for their respective divisions and even the NFC Championship this year.

Plus that Seahawks defensive line looks awfully good, and it’d be nice to see Aaron Rodgers on his back to start the season.

Your turn.
