Lions-Cardinals injury report: Zach Zenner (back) full participant in Thursday’s practice

Zach Zenner is on track to play on Sunday.

NFL: New York Jets at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

We’re a day closer to Detroit Lions football, which means we’re a day closer to the final injury report of the week. On Friday, we’ll get full designations as to whether certain Lions players are “questionable,” “doubtful,” or “out.” Remember, last year the NFL got rid of the “probable” designation.

Thursday’s Lions injury report doesn’t look much different than Wednesday’s. The same four players are listed: Ezekiel Ansah (knee), Corey Robinson (foot), Zach Zenner (back) and Kenny Golladay (ankle). Three of those four names remain limited in practice, as they were on Wednesday.

The lone exception is Zenner, who was a full participant in practice. The origin and severity of Zenner’s back issue is unknown, but the fact that he was a full participant is a good sign he’ll be ready to go on Sunday.

While Ezekiel Ansah remains limited, Lions coaches once again insisted he’ll be ready for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. Here’s what Teryl Austin had to say during his press conference on Thursday:

There doesn’t seem to be much worry about Golladay’s injury, either. Offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter was asked about the wide receiver depth and who may be the No. 3 receiver on Sunday.

For the Cardinals, defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche returned to practice in a limited fashion, while Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald returned after a non-injury related absence on Wednesday.
