For many, the 2018 NFL Draft scouting process began long ago. During the college football season, plenty of people—both amateurs and professionals—had their eyes glued to the television on Saturday, hoping to catch a glimpse of the next NFL stars.

For others, the scouting process won’t begin for another couple months. The draft is still over three months away, and we don’t even know much about team needs, seeing as the free agency period has yet to begin.

For some, it all begins today. The East-West Shrine Game is the symbolic start of the offseason draft process. The college all-star game features the best eligible (and willing) seniors from across the country, split into east and west teams. The players have been on display all week during practices filled with scouts from every team, but on Saturday afternoon, they’ll have a chance to display those skills in a game-like scenario against some of their best competition.

So get your notebook out. Start drafting your first(?) mock draft. And get ready for the start of draft season.

REMINDER: Here are 9 defensive players to watch in the game.
