The Detroit Lions 2017 season ended over three weeks ago, yet it still feels like the door has yet to be completely closed because of the current coaching limbo status. Matt Patricia will be the Lions’ next head coach, but it cannot happen for another two weeks.
So while we wait, and before we look ahead to free agency, the NFL Draft, and all of the fun (see: horrible) things that the offseason has to offer, let’s take a look back on the 2017 season that was.
As always, we like to hand out awards to the best players, moments, and games from the Lions’ season, and this year is no different. But we need your help. The season is long and my memory is short, so I ask of you to help provide nominations for the following 10 awards:
- Most Valuable Player
- Offensive Player of the Year
- Defensive Player of the Year
- Special Teams Player of the Year
- Breakout Player of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Game of the Year
- Play of the Year
- Coach of the Year
- Pride of Detroit moment of the year (site specific)
Give your nominations for each award in the comment section below. Feel free to give as many nominations for each category as you’d like. We will gather the most popular choices (along with choices of our own), then whittle them down to 3-5 choices per category. Next week, we publish polls for each category based on those nominations and will announce the winners in each category after a week or two.
Let the nomination process begin!
