While there are still NFL Playoffs happening, the Detroit Lions season is already in the rear-view mirror. Before you know it, we will have completely moved on in the hopes that the new coach—whoever that may be—will lead us to the promised land.

But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look back on the season that was. The season had its ups and its downs. Much like every Lions season, there was triumph, there was disappointment and there was the unavoidable controversy.

But on this Sunday morning, let’s reminisce on the positive. Today’s Question of the Day is:

What was your favorite moment from the 2017 Detroit Lions season?

My answer: It had to be the immediate aftermath of the Lions’ Week 4 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

That happened to be the only game I attended in person and at that point in time, I felt the most confident about a Lions team than I have in a very long time. Detroit was 3-1, inches away from being 4-0. They had just beaten what many considered at the time to be a serious division contender—on their own field, no less.

The defense was rolling, the offense sputtered at times, but managed to put up 97 rushing yards against a very good Vikings defense.

This team not only seemed destined to compete, but they looked like very legitimate contenders to win a division crown. The following week, Power Rankings had them as high as No. 2. We were in uncharted territories as Lions fans, and while most of us remained guarded, it was still a pretty good feeling to be respected like that, even if it only lasted a week.

Your turn.
