This week’s Sunday Night Football match up pits two AFC teams with their sights set on a playoff run. The Cincinnati Bengals travel to Kansas City to take on the Chiefs in what should be a fun game. With the Bengals and Chiefs are ranked 6th and 2nd, respectively, in points per game, we’re sure to have a shootout on our hands.
The Bengals find themselves sitting at 4-2 going into Week 7. Lions fans may remember the man behind the Bengals defense: Teryl Austin. With the Bengals offense on fire through six weeks, Austin’s defense has suffered many a shootout that leaves them at 29th in the league giving up 409 yards per game.
The Chiefs have a similar identity, with young gunslinger Patrick Mahomes leading a signature Andy Reid high-octane attack. The Chiefs defense are worst in the league in yards per game by a wide margin, allowing 468 yards per game. That’s a lot of yards per game.
Are you starting to see a trend here? There are going to be a lot of yards gained on Sunday night and not a lot of defense to stop it from happening.
Who are you looking forward to seeing the most on Sunday night? Can Andy Dalton & Co. keep up with the Chiefs? Is this finally the year Marvin Lewis & the Bengals win a playoff game?
