We’re seven weeks deep into the Detroit Lions’ 2018 season, and it’s still extremely hard to figure out who this team is. I’ve already mentioned several times how odd it is that the Lions’ three wins have come against teams with winning records (well, before the Dolphins imploded on Thursday night), and their three losses have come against teams with losing records.
But it goes well beyond that. Are the Lions a team that can actually control the game with a rushing attack or have they just taken advantage of some sketchy defense? Will the team drastically improve with Damon Harrison Sr. now clogging the middle of the defensive line, or are the Lions’ run defense problems more complicated than that?
It’s hard to know, and with an equally confusing Seahawks team coming into town, you’d think there would be some disagreement among the Pride of Detroit staff in our Week 8 picks. There is... but it’s not much.

Yep. Only two staff members are picking the Seahawks this week. The 13 others are riding with the Lions, expecting them to climb over .500 on Sunday.
That could be bad news for Detroit. As you can see by our predictions record, we haven’t exactly been the most accurate of prognosticators this season, but who could blame us? This team has been hard to figure out, and fans have only correctly predicted one game this year.
So take these predictions with a grain of salt.
SPEAKING OF PREDICTIONS: If you go to this week’s On Paper preview article and leave a comment that is the closest to the actual score of this week’s game, you will win one (1) of our new “SNACKS” t-shirts. Predictions obviously have to be in before kickoff. If there are multiple people with the same prediction, the winner is the person who posted the score prediction first.
And don’t forget to vote in the poll at the bottom of this article.
