Golden Tate trade: Detroit Lions players react to losing WR to Eagles

The Lions roster weighed in on the loss of one Detroit’s most prolific players in the franchise’s history.

It’s never easy losing a teammate in the middle of the season. It’s even harder when that teammate was such a big contributor to the team. It’s even harder than that when the player being sent off is as charismatic as Golden Tate is.

But Lions player heard the news just like everyone else on Tuesday morning, and most them were not happy with what they saw.

Here’s a sampling:

Jamal Agnew seemed to take it especially hard. The Lions defensive back, who is currently on injured reserved, couldn’t help but express his frustrations on Twitter:

Even Devon Kennard, who just joined the team, appreciated what Tate brought to the team:

It’s not surprising to see the outpour of frustration from Lions players. This was a move that is going to require some explanation from the coaching staff. Tate was a big contributor and an even bigger leader in that locker room. Fans and players alike are going to need some time to digest this one, as Tate was one of the biggest favorites in town.
