Lions vs. Packers Preview

It's a question as old as time, what Lions will wee see today? Maybe its just me being optimistic, but I do see a different Lions team this year. A steady improvement week to week from our QB and rookie RB is what jumps out at me. JBC appears to be getting better with the more control he has over this offense. One thing i will commend MP on is he lets his coaches coach, which from an offensive stand point I think is a great formula for success. On the defensive side I like what I see MOST of the time. I did not like the matchup of Agnew on Beasley last week and I thought it was an unfair ask of Agnew to cover him, but my biggest surprise so far is Lawson. He was my liability coming into the season and besides that straight drop of an INT last week, I thought he played awesome. Jarrad Davis is young and learning a new system already in his second year. Talk about his coverage problems but I absolutely LOVE how he handled it last week. He acknowledges there is a problem and is going to work on fixing it. What is unquestionable is the ability, he can fly to the ball carrier and is in the middle of every play.

What I would like to see on Offense - No surprise here, ask any Lions fan or "expert" It's time to feature Kerryon early and often. I would expect to see the same Sunday Night Patriots game plan of keeping their best player off the field as much as possible. A steady dose of the rookie who seems to get better with each carry is what I want to see.Side note here - Anyone noticed how good KG has got over the offseason?? This man is a BEAST and sooner rather then later he is going to have a game the whole world will see and shake their head at. He is our future at that position.

What I would like to see on Defense - Adjustments, adjustments, adjustments. Too many times already this year has our defense started solid and when the offense adjusts, we just stick with the same plan. After Beasley burns Agnew for the 4th time on 3rd down, it's time to try something else. There is no doubt in my mind we will come out with a strong game plan to slow down AR, but if we don't adjust when they do, I could see another late heart break.

Prediction - Lions +1 and Under 50.5 .. Lions 24 Packers 17
