Monday open thread: Do you feel better, worse or the same after the Lions’ loss to the Vikings?

It feels like we haven’t had a Victory Monday in ages.

It’s hard to be optimistic about a team after they’re outclassed by another team on a given week. When it happens two weeks in a row, it’s hard to see any light amongst the darkness.

The Detroit Lions have been on the butt-end of a beatdown in two consecutive games, and halfway through the season, it looks like any hope for the postseason is already gone. The defense is still giving up big plays, and the offense looks clueless right now.

If there’s a reason to feel optimistic about this team right now, I’m not seeing it after two lifeless performances against NFC contenders. But, as always, we ask the same question on the Monday after a Lions game.

Do you feel better, worse or the same after the Lions’ loss to the Vikings?

My answer: A little worse.

If you frequent the site, you know that I was pretty down on the Lions’ move to trade Golden Tate and what it meant for the team’s 2018 season. So it wasn’t all that surprising to me to see Detroit’s offense struggle on Sunday, especially against a defense that has had their number for the past four years.

But you never like to see your doubts about the team come to fruition, and it just plain sucks to see the Lions’ season go to waste this early in the year, especially when the rest of the division is also struggling to an extent.

I didn’t expect much out of the Lions this year from the get-go, but it feels like the season ended on Sunday... and the team has eight more games left.

Yeah, I’m feeling a little worse this morning.

Your turn.
