Lions Week 10 injury report: T.J. Lang has another new injury

The Lions right guard is ailing yet again.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Detroit Lions Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

The first injury report of Week 10 is out for the Detroit Lions and the team was missing two key players during Wednesday’s practice. Cornerback Darius Slay and right guard T.J. Lang did not participate in the first practice of the week in the lead up to the Chicago Bears game on Sunday.

Lang is listed with yet another new injury. Now he is dealing with a neck issue. On Sunday against the Vikings, Lang was hurt on a second-half play and did not return. So far this season, Lang has been dealing with both a concussion and a hip injury. Last year, Lang fought through back and foot injuries, as well as another concussion.

The Bears present a big challenge because of their impressive defensive front, and Lang’s replacement, Kenny Wiggins, has been struggling in spot duty this season.

Slay is currently dealing with a knee issue that popped up late on last week’s injury report. The injury did not hold him out of Sunday’s game, but the fact that he missed a practice is obviously not a great sign for his availability. Still, it’s early in the week and he still has time to recover.

Elsewhere, both Kerryon Johnson (ankle) and LeGarrette Blount (knee) were limited in practice on Wednesday.

As for the Chicago Bears, they could be getting two big pieces back this week. Khalil Mack is expected to practice on Wednesday, as is tight end Adam Shaheen, who is still currently on injured reserve. Shaheen is eligible to come off the IR list this week after spending the entire first half on the injury list.
