NFL: Carolina Panthers at Pittsburgh Steelers Philip G. Pavely-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time in a couple of weeks, “Thursday Night Football” actually offers up an intriguing matchup this week. In a rare AFC vs. NFC matchup, the 5-2-1 Pittsburgh Steelers will host the 6-2 Carolina Panthers.

If the Detroit Lions were still realistically in the playoff hunt, this would be the part where I tell you to root for the Steelers, because at this point it certainly looks like a Wild Card team will come out of the NFC South, with the Saints currently atop the division at 7-1.

Of course, the Lions are far from mathematically eliminated, so if you believe in miracles, go ahead and root for the Steelers tonight. I probably won’t be watching, but if I were, I’d just be hoping for a competitive game.

Here’s how to watch:

Game Time: 8:20 PM ET on Thursday November 8, 2018
Location - Heinz Field—Pittsburgh, PA
TV Channel - Fox and NFL Network
Announcers: Joe Buck (play-by-play), Troy Aikman (color), Erin Andrews and Kristina Pink (sideline)
Online Streaming - Amazon Prime, Twitch.TV
SB Nation sites: Cat Scratch Reader (Panthers) — Behind the Steel Curtain (Steelers)
