Sunday Night Football open thread: Chargers at Steelers

An AFC showdown closes a wild Sunday of football.

It’s been a pretty crazy day of football. The entire NFC North dropped a huge turd, and it cost one head coach his job. A week after it looked like Andrew Luck was back and the Indianapolis Colts were the hottest team in the NFL, they went and got shut out by the 3-8 Jacksonville Jaguars. The Chiefs barely escaped the lowly Raiders, the Lions nearly upset the Rams, and linemen were scoring touchdowns everywhere.

To close out the day, NBC is treating us to what should be a pretty entertaining finale. The San Diego Chargers are quietly one of the best teams in the league, but chasing after the Kansas City Chiefs is no easy task in the AFC West. They’ll have to take down the 7-3-1 division-leading Steelers to keep pace in the race.

The Steelers are coming off a hugely disappointing loss to the Broncos, but they still hold a half-game lead over the Ravens in the AFC North.

Come watch as both teams try to jockey their way into a prime position to make the playoffs come January.
