NFL Week 16 expert picks: Staff predictions for Lions vs. Vikings

New, comments

A look at who we’re taking this week

NFL: Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

It hasn’t been a particularly easy season to predict what the Detroit Lions are going to do each week, especially earlier in the year. High expectations to enter the season were met with some really bad play to kick off September. Then just as all hope was escaping even the most optimistic of fans, the Lions pulled off impressive wins over the Packers, Patriots and Dolphins, which was just enough to get the playoff talk going.

We all know what happened next, and we’re left with a Lions team that is just not all that good. They can still be competitive—they have essentially been in every game since their first bout with the Bears back in Week 10—but losing six of their last eight isn’t a coincidence.

So this week, as the Lions face off against a hungry Minnesota Vikings team, the entire Pride of Detroit staff is not predicting happy things for the holiday weekend (unless you’re #TeamTank). But who knows? As a team, we’ve been more wrong than right this year.

Here are our predictions for Lions vs. Vikings:

Kellie Rowe (8-4): 24-10 Vikings
Ryan Mathews (8-6): 24-6 Vikings
Jeremy Reisman (8-6): 24-6 Vikings
Andrew Kato (6-5): 41-9 Vikings
Justin Simon (7-7): 23-10 Vikings
Mike Payton (7-7): 35-6 Vikings
Kent Lee Platte (7-7): 11-6 Vikings
Alex Reno (7-7): 20-6 Vikings
Levi Blue (6-8): 24-13 Vikings
Mansur Shaheen (6-8): 34-10 Vikings
Kyle Yost (6-8): 24-10 Vikings
John Whiticar (5-9): 30-17 Vikings
Jerry Mallory (5-9): 24-13 Vikings
Hamza Baccouche (5-9): 29-21 Vikings
Chris Perfett (5-9): 69-2 Vikings
