Nothing about Sunday’s game was particularly surprising. The Detroit Lions dropped to 5-10, as most expected them too, and while they mostly controlled the first half, everyone in the building knew it was only a matter of time before the Vikings righted the ship and took back the game.
The loss cemented Detroit’s spot in the basement of the NFC North—a place the Lions hadn’t finished in six years. Many Lions fans thought those days were behind them, but it’s clear the transition from Jim Caldwell to Matt Patricia has resulted in some serious bumps in the road.
The positive spin is that the Lions are in a pretty good spot to pick up a top five pick in the 2019 draft, and the defensive turnaround in the second half of the season appears to be for real.
So today’s Question of the Day is:
Do you feel better, worse or the same after the Lions’ loss to the Vikings?
My answer: I’m going to keep this brief because it’s the holidays and I’m not feeling particularly well, but nothing about Sunday changed my opinion of the anyone on the team. It was the most stereotypical performance of the 2018 Lions, so I feel the exact same this Monday morning.
Your turn.
