Ask POD: What a bright time, it’s the right time

To do a podcast about a 5-10 football team.

After unhitching what tiny chance the Detroit Lions had at making the playoffs last week in upstate New York, the team had a chance to save face in Week 16. For a team that brands themselves with the word “pride” in a myriad of ways, a matchup with a divisional foe in the Minnesota Vikings, a team still in the playoff hunt themselves, seemed like a chance for Detroit to stay true to their brand.

Play to split the season series against Minnesota. Play to be spoilers to the Vikings’ hopes at a wild card. Play to keep themselves out of the basement of the NFL standings.

So much for that.

You know the best way to take your mind off of the frustrations of this season? The best way to keep you from clutching your jersey and muttering stuff about the coaching staff, the players, and the ownership? I don’t know how you best cope with any of that stuff because that’s a you thing.

But you know what I do know? You can ask us questions about literally anything you want in the Ask POD mailbag. Anything. The best Christmas _________. How much money is the appropriate amount to tip your mail carrier? Which sock do you put on first?

If you’re of the Twitter kind, hit us up in the comment section or via Twitter using the hashtag #AskPOD.

Happy holidays to you and yours! My gift to you: the best musical offering of the season courtesy of those Two Dope Boyz in a Cadillac.
