Most importantly, rookie running back Kerryon Johnson is OUT for the third straight game with a knee injury he suffered against the Carolina Panthers. That means it will be all LeGarrette Blount, who our own Kyle Yost thinks could be a good fantasy play this week.
Also out is linebacker Trevor Bates. Bates is dealing with an ankle injury, and although he returned to practice this week, he will not play against the Cards.
Detroit also listed eight players as questionable for Week 14. Most notably, Darius Slay, Matthew Stafford and Devon Kennard are among the players whose status is still up in the air. There shouldn’t be much concern for Stafford, as he has repeatedly said he’s “fine” throughout the week.
Slay and Kennard are a little more wishy washy. Slay had an ankle injury pop up during Thursday’s practice, and Kennard couldn’t finish last week’s game against the Rams because of a hip injury. Both were limited in practice on Friday.
In positive news, Ezekiel Ansah and Kenny Golladay were both upgraded to full participation in Friday’s practice, and neither of them have an injury designation. They will play.
For the Cardinals, linebacker Deone Bucannon is will miss his second straight game with a chest injury and safety Budda Baker is questionable with a knee injury. Baker returned to practice in a limited fashion Friday after missing the previous two sessions.
