NFL Week 14 early games open thread

Come on over as we watch the early slate of games.

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions have a late afternoon game, which means you can get your Christmas shopping done early today or spend time with your family or whatever.

Or, if you’re a cool person that supports their local sports blog, you could hang out with us and watch some non-Lions football. The 1 p.m. ET slot offers eight different games of varying excitement. There aren’t any must-see games, exactly, but Ravens-Chiefs has potential to be a pretty good matchup, and Patriots-Dolphins always seems to be more entertaining than it should be.

Here are all the games in the early afternoon slot.

Jets (3-9) vs. Bills (4-8) — 1 p.m. ET — CBS
Panthers (6-6) vs. Browns (4-7-1) — 1 p.m. ET — FOX
Falcons (4-8) vs. Packers (4-7-1) — 1 p.m. ET — FOX
Ravens (7-5) vs. Chiefs (10-2) — 1 p.m. ET — CBS
Patriots (9-2) vs. Dolphins (6-6) — 1 p.m. ET — CBS
Saints (10-2) vs. Buccaneers (5-7) — 1 p.m. ET — FOX
Giants (4-8) vs. Washington (6-6) — 1 p.m. ET — FOX
Colts (6-6) vs. Texans (9-3) — 1 p.m. ET — CBS

And if you need a reminder for what teams you should be rooting for, be sure to check out our Week 14 Rooting Guide. It has all the information you need, whether you’re rooting for draft position or playoff longshot odds.

Enjoy the early games today and be sure to check back at 4:25 p.m. ET for the Lions game.
