Sunday Night Football open thread: Rams at Bears

A big NFC matchup is waiting on Sunday night.

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Chicago Bears Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

Well the Detroit Lions won and just about everyone else competing for a playoff spot in the NFC lost on Sunday. Typically, that would mean a geeked Lions fanbase.

However, with the Lions’ postseason odds still astronomical and the way the team played on Sunday, I don’t think there are a lot of fans really expecting a late playoff run for this team.

That being said, the misfortune of other teams is always something fun to root for. And this somewhat pleasant Week 14 Sunday could be topped with the most pleasurable of schadenfreude: a Chicago Bears loss.

The Bears have a pretty commanding lead in the NFC North, and the Lions mathematically cannot even catch them. So a Chicago loss doesn’t really help Detroit in any way in the playoff race, but it does help me laugh at the Bears.

Anyways, if you’re sticking around to watch, here’s how to do it.

Date: Sunday, December 9, 2018
Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
Location: Soldier Field—Chicago, IL
Announcers: Al Michaels (play-by-play), Cris Collinsworth (analyst), Michele Tafoya (sidelines)
