Tuesday open thread: Which NFC North free agent do you want out of the division?

Which NFC North foe are you hoping leaves the division in free agency?

A lot of the focus during free agency surrounds the player additions. Teams are all excited about the new pieces than can bring to their organization in order to make that championship run that is long overdue.

However, just as key as the acquisitions are the losses. Every year, just about every team is forced to get rid of a talented player. Sometimes it’s due to a poor fit with the coaching staff, sometimes it’s just simply a matter of dollars and cents.

But another team’s loss can be your team’s gain. When your division rivals get weaker, you inherently get stronger relatively speaking.

So today, let’s examine the potential free agents from the Vikings, Packers and Bears. Tuesday’s Question of the Day is:

Which NFC North free agent are you eager to see leave the division?

First, let’s look at each team’s potential unrestricted free agents.

Packers

  • SS Morgan Burnett
  • LB Ahmad Brooks
  • CB Davon House
  • G Jahri Evans
  • LS Brett Goode
  • DT Quinton Dial
  • TE Richard Rodgers
  • LT Ulrick John
  • CB Demetri Goodson
  • WR Jeff Janis

Bears

  • CB Prince Amukamara
  • TE Zach Miller
  • WR Dontrelle Inman
  • CB Kyle Fuller
  • QB Mark Sanchez
  • WR Kendall Wright
  • T Tom Compton
  • LB Christian Jones
  • CB Sherrick McManis
  • DE Mitch Unrein
  • K Mike Nugent
  • LB Lamarr Houston
  • LB Sam Acho
  • RB Benny Cunningham
  • CB John Jenkins
  • LT Bradley Sowell
  • LS Andrew DePaola
  • K Cario Santos
  • P Pat O’Donnell

Vikings

  • QB Sam Bradford
  • QB Case Keenum
  • QB Teddy Bridgewater
  • CB Terrance Newman
  • LB Emmanuel Lamur
  • DT Tom Johnson
  • G Joe Berger
  • CB Marcus Sherels
  • WR Michael Floyd
  • CB Tramaine Brock
  • RB Jerick McKinnon
  • RB Bishop Sankey
  • DT Shamar Stephen
  • K Kai Forbath

My answer: Surprisingly, there isn’t really a name that jumps out here. Obviously, the Vikings are facing the biggest decision with all three quarterbacks potentially facing free agency, but Minnesota has thrived with both Keenum and Bradford, so I don’t think that’s the answer.

Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller is coming off a very good year, and it would be nice to have one less dominant corner in the division. Also, please get Richard Rodgers out of the North. I can’t stand to have that memory still lingering about.

Overall, however, it doesn’t look like the other three teams in the division are facing any potential huge losses this free agency—again, aside from the quarterback situation in Minny. So my overall answer is probably Kyle Fuller just so that we can continue to own the Bears.

Your turn.
