The 2018 NFL Draft is still over two months away. For all 32 teams, a lot is going to change between now and then. Team needs will invariably be altered after free agency. Draft prospects will see their stock rise or fall based on both the NFL Combine and various pro days. Hell, some NFL teams may change their priorities based on organized team activities in early April prior to the draft.
But it’s always interesting to see how opinions change over time, so let’s take a poll of the fanbase. Today’s Question of the Day is:
If the draft were today, what position would you like to see the Detroit Lions address in the first round?
My answer: For now, I’m ignoring the actual players that may be available when the Lions are on the clock and just talking about position preference. All talent being equal, I think I would love to see the Lions address defensive tackle over everything. Disruption from the middle of the line of scrimmage is one of the most challenging things an offense has to deal with, and Detroit doesn’t currently have that disrupter on their roster.
There are plenty of other positions that would make sense. Offensive guard and defensive end are probably the next two on my priority list, but if the draft were to start tomorrow, give me a big, athletic defensive tackle.
Your turn.
