For the Detroit Lions, Sunday may be the biggest day at the NFL Combine. The Lions’ front seven on defense has been their weakness for the past three years, and they’re only now starting to turn it around with young players like A’Shawn Robinson, Jarrad Davis and Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
They’re far from a complete rebuild on the defensive side of the ball, and with defensive guru Matt Patricia now leading the team, one has to think that the Lions will be adding a lot of talent this offseason.
So on Sunday, some of the top defensive line and linebacker prospects will take the field in Indianapolis for NFL Combine drills. Sadly, one of the best prospects, defensive tackle Maurice Hurst, will not participate, as his medical examination revealed a heart condition that requires further testing.
But stick with us as the rest of the defenders go through drills and display their athleticism in front of all 32 teams.
