- Alabama held their Pro Day on Wednesday in front of a full house. Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn was there, as was head coach Matt Patricia. I think Patricia forgot what team he was on, though:

- Speaking of Patricia, he joined Peter King’s podcast this week. He doesn’t give out any valuable information, but he still a very interesting person to listen to. Highly recommend if you have 30 minutes of spare time.
- Pro Football Focus created a nice chart of Matthew Stafford’s efficiency throwing each pass in the route tree. He’s pretty good.

- Dave Birkett has an interesting articles on how teams are dealing with the wave of next-gen data they are receiving from the NFL. Some brush it off as meaningless, while others are completely embracing it.
- On Wednesday, the Lions announced the hiring of defensive assistant Steve Gregory. Gregory’s most notable accomplishment? Being the beneficiary of the Buttfumble:
New #Lions coach Steve Gregory is mostly known for returning the "Worst Play in Football History", the Butt-Fumble for the touchdown https://t.co/QbjYSDRTGK

- Chris Burke of The Athletic has a three-round mock draft for the entire NFL (subscription required). His choices for the Lions are much more palatable than Todd McShay’s choices. In it, the Lions land DE Harold Landry, C Billy Price and RB John Kelly.
- Need to catch up on a crazy day of NFL news? Here’s the top headlines from Wednesday (so far):
Here it goes: Seahawks are trading DE Michael Bennett and a seventh-round pick to Eagles for a fifth-round pick and WR Marcus Johnson, sources tell ESPN.

Compensation update: Giants are trading their fourth-round pick and their sixth-round pick in return for LB Alec Ogletree and the Rams' 2019 seventh-round pick, per source.

More Bennett brothers news today: the Patriots are releasing TE Martellus Bennett, per league source.

Following #Seahawks CB Richard Sherman’s meeting with team brass, they are expected to explore trade options, I’m told. They could trade him or release him, or potentially keep him (likely at a different salary).
