With the NFL Draft about halfway through the first round, the Detroit Lions have kept fairly quiet while players like Marcus Davenport and Da’Ron Payne come off the board. But we may hear from them very soon.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Lions are trying to trade down, but they aren’t hte only team:
Seattle is trying to move back from No. 18.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) April 27, 2018
Detroit trying to move back from No. 20.
Atlanta trying to come up.
The rumors about the Lions trading down have been bubbling for some time, and general manager Bob Quinn has been quite vocal about his desire to acquire more picks.
The Falcons, currently with the 26th pick, have a big need on the interior defensive line, a need that the Lions currently share with them.
The Lions could make a more attractive trade partner for the Falcons, seeing as it will obviously cost them a little less. But there’s always a chance the player the Falcons want never falls that far. Stay tuned to see what happens.
