VIDEO: First look at Lions rookie RB Kerryon Johnson in a throwback jersey

At this weekend’s NFL Rookie Premiere event, Kerryon Johnson was looking fresh in a Lions uniform.

It goes without saying that one of the most exciting picks the Detroit Lions made in the 2018 NFL Draft was second-round selection Kerryon Johnson. The former Auburn running back was clearly valued by Lions general manager Bob Quinn, as he went all out in getting him, sending a fourth-round pick to the Patriots in order to move up eight spots.

It couldn’t have come at a better time for the Lions. A failing running game has followed this team around like a persistent rain cloud, and Johnson presents the hope of sunshine to permeate the dark ages.

So Lions fans are rightfully pretty excited. When combined with the first-round selection of center Frank Ragnow and a coaching change at offensive line, there is serious (and justified) optimism that Detroit could have a respectable running game for the first time since 2011.

Kerryon Johnson is the face of this offensive shift, so it’s pretty darn exciting to see him in a Lions uniform, and thanks to this weekend’s NFL Rookie Premiere event in Los Angeles, we got a chance to finally see that—and in the new throwbacks, too!

How i feel about it being one day closer to football season

If that doesn’t get you excited for the 2018 season, I don’t know what will. The look of of wonderment on Johnson’s face, his bright smile, and that fresh #33 on the back of the jersey.

Just over two months until training camp!
