Friday open thread: Will you be attending Detroit Lions training camp this year?

Now that the schedule is out, will you be attending?

NFL: Detroit Lions-Training Camp Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Detroit Lions offseason workouts are now complete. After completing the last OTA on Thursday, there are no more remaining practices for the Lions until training camp kicks off in just over a month.

Earlier in the week, the Lions announced they’ll hold 12 open practices this year, which is almost double the public sessions they had last year (seven). Included in those 12 practices are three joint sessions with the New York Giants, who will come to town the week leading up to their Week 2 preseason game.

If you missed the schedule of these training camp open practices, we have all the information here.

Today’s Question of the Day is:

Will you be attending any of Lions training camp this year?

My answer: Uh, yeah. I plan on attending every single practice we’re allowed to go to. Currently, three of the 12 practices are for season ticket holders only, but I absolutely plan on going to the other nine, and if we can get credentialed for the other three, I’ll be going to those, as well.

Last year, I attended my first training camp practice, and it was both enlightening and overwhelming. Since I’ll be living in Michigan by the time training camp rolls around, it’s time to make this a tradition both for me personally and the site. We are going to be all over training camp coverage this year and I can’t wait.

Unfortunately, the timing of these practices are going to make it tough for a lot of others to go daily. Every single practice starts early in the morning, and only three of the 12 come on weekends.

Regardless, are you planning on going to any practices this year? If so, how many?
