Ask POD: We’re on the road to training camp

It’s so close we can almost taste the freshly-cut grass.

NFL: Detroit Lions-Training Camp Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

This week, the NFL announced reporting dates for all 32 teams’ training camp, and we’ve officially crossed over the month-left mark before rookies will travel to Allen Park. Before you know it, we’ll all be in line outside the practice facility eagerly awaiting to get a glimpse of Matt Patricia’s new squad. And shortly thereafter, we’ll see our Detroit Lions on television, albeit in exhibition fashion, eating up every single second the first-team is out there, drawing sweeping conclusions based on two series of play.

And in just over two months, it’ll finally be here. We’ll have to wait an extra day for it—which will seem like an eternity—but our Lions are so damn close to their season opener against the New York Jets.

All of that is to say, we’re almost there... but we’re not there yet. The PODcast is busy LISTCASTing and taking trips in our Way Back Machine, but we’ll need you to help us carry our final segment of the show: Our mailbag.

Ask us any questions about the Lions or really anything that’s on your mind. Here are some suggestions: What is the best song for a long road trip? Who is your dark horse player to make the Lions 53-man roster? If a tomato is a fruit, is ketchup a smoothie?

Add your questions below in the comment section (or on Twitter using the hashtag #AskPOD) and we may answer it on this week’s episode of the PODcast!
