- While not many NFL analysts have been predicting big things for the Detroit Lions in 2018, we haven’t seen many predicting a big drop off, either. However, USA TODAY’s Nate Davis doesn’t appear to be much of a believer in Detroit. He has them finishing last in the NFC North this season with a 6-10 record. That’s also good for third-worst in the entire NFC.
Of course, if you look at the history of USA TODAY, this won’t come as a surprise. Look at what they have predicted for Detroit over the past four years:
Lions USA TODAY Projections Through the Years and (Actual Record):

2016: 7-9 (9-7), +2 wins

2018: 6-10 (?) https://t.co/WNXddZ2Hcb
- Darrelle Revis had the lowest passer rating allowed in a single season going back to 2006. But last year, Darius Slay cracked the top five, too:
Darrelle Revis was targeted 111 times in the 2009 regular season. These were the results:

41 receptions (fewest of any CB with 80+ targets)
425 yards (fewest of any CB with 70+ targets)
6 INT (tied for 3rd most among CBs)

- Erik Schlitt of Lions Wire broke down some statistics showing how the Lions’ play-action game was actually among the league’s best in 2017, despite having the worst statistical rushing attack.
- This is the most backhanded compliment you’ll ever see directed at Matt Patricia and the former Patriots coaching staff:
Jason Kelce on SB52: “The last defense we had seen was Minnesota’s, and we were like, ‘These dudes have got some players.’ Then we see [the Patriots] and we’re like, ‘These dudes have got some . . . coaches.’” @alex_prewitt with the Eagles' O-line:https://t.co/bZaO859Jde pic.twitter.com/B743oAiBCT

- Sports Illustrated has an interesting article about the increasing influence of female NFL owners, including Lions owner Martha Ford.
