Every year, there seems to be at least one player that shines in the preseason. For back-to-back preseasons in 2015 and 2016, it was Kerry Hyder Jr., whose performance during the exhibition games earned him a spot on the roster. Last year, Tion Green showed up in the final preseason game against the Bills and won over a big portion of Lions fans.
So as we are now hours away from the Lions’ preseason debut, it’s time to start guessing who this year’s preseason darling will be.
Today’s Question of the Day is:
Who will be the standout Lions player vs. the Oakland Raiders on Friday night?
My answer: It has to be training camp hype train Teo Redding. Redding apparently had a pretty dominant joint practice on Tuesday, and that’s on top of his impressive training camp. Redding is an athletic specimen that has been dominating second and third stringers in practice.
Luckily for Redding, those are the kind of players he’ll be facing Friday night, and I full expect him to stick out amongst the group of fringe NFL players. The only thing that could limit him, honestly, is the poor play of his quarterbacks.
Prediction: 6 catches, 87 yards, 1 TD.
