No one likes a rain delay. That’s why people hate baseball so much. But the Detroit Lions made Friday night’s delay a little better for one random fan.
After kickoff for the Lions’ preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was pushed an hour back due to thunderstorms, Paul Rodenburg was feeling a little down. He was fully prepared for a 8 p.m. ET kickoff and even timed his meal perfectly:
I made a pizza too, timed it perfectly to match with kick off, but there's no kick off. pic.twitter.com/zMP73d9aQK

But the Lions weren’t about to have a fan’s party get literally rained upon. So they reached out to Paul, wanting to make sure he had some fresh pizza ready for kickoff:
DM us your address and we'll get you some fresh

And this wasn’t just an empty gesture from the team. They actually went through with it!
Thanks so much for saving the pizza party! You guys rule. pic.twitter.com/2TPm2SNbtt

AND they went with Jets AND they threw in the Cinnamon Stix. No word yet on the choice of crust flavor, but my money is on Turbo Crust.
This is just another chapter in just how awesome the Lions’ social media account has been over the past few years.
