The Detroit Lions cuts are underway. Through a variety of sources the first three names have been leaked.
According to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein, offensive lineman Jamar McGloster has been cut:
The Lions have waived OL Jamar McGloster, per a source. Had signed with them earlier in camp.

McGloster was added just before the start of training camp, but never really made much of an impression, continuously playing with the third and fourth strings.
Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press is reporting corner Sterling Moore is also going to be released.
Brought in as a late camp signing, Moore didn’t have a lot of time to get up to speed and try to earn a roster spot. The Lions were Moore’s seventh team, with the New Orleans Saints being his most recent stop prior to signing with the Lions on August 20. His previous experience in Matt Patricia’s defense (2011-2012) likely prompted his signing, but he wasn’t able to land a roster spot.
Finally wide receiver Brian Brown is also on his way out, per Herbie Teope of NFL.com:
Lions are waiving WR Brian Brown, per source. Brown spent time on the Cowboys practice squad in 2017, joined Lions early in training camp.

Brown was the last of a wide receiver signing early in camp when Detroit was still rotating through depth players. He failed to make a single catch during the preseason, however, and never really had much of a shot at the final 53-man roster.
