Lions notes: Watch several Patriots players embrace Matt Patricia after Sunday’s game

Earlier on Monday, we shared the behind-the-scenes video of Detroit Lions players hugging head coach Matt Patricia just moments after he led the Lions to their first victory of the season—against his mentor nonetheless. It was a really warm moment for Patricia, who was facing a lot of scrutiny (some fair, some not) through his first two weeks of the regular season.

But it wasn’t just Lions players seeking to congratulate and connect with Patricia after the game. Several Patriots players who had played under Patricia for years when he was their defensive coordinator sought out the Lions head coach after the game, and it appeared Patricia made time for every single one of them.

This pretty much matches all of the stories we’ve heard about Patricia’s time in New England. Prior players raved about his interpersonal relationships and motivational tactics. Now we can clearly see just how much he meant to those players.
