The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams are both just a game away from the Super Bowl. With their convincing wins over the Colts and Cowboys respectively, both franchises are looking to reach the game that has evaded both teams for the past 15 years or more.
They’ll be sitting at home on Sunday waiting to see their conference championship opponent. First, the AFC will decide their second finalist as the New England Patriots host the Los Angeles Chargers. Oddly enough, the Chargers (12-4) finished with a better record than the Patriots (11-5), but by merely being in the same division as the Chiefs, Los Angeles was kicked down to a five seed. The Patriots, on the other hand, enjoyed the fruits of sitting in a bad division, which included a first-round bye and now a home divisional game.
To wrap up divisional weekend, the No. 1 seeded New Orleans Saints will finally have a chance to prove their postseason chops by facing off against the defending champions. The Philadelphia Eagles are hot, and Nick Foles appears ready to make another improbable run at the Super Bowl. However, no team finished with a better record than the Saints this year (13-3) and this team gave the Eagles their biggest whooping of the season—a 48-7 embarrassment—back in mid-November.
