The second member of the AFC championship game will be decided on Sunday as the Los Angeles Chargers travel across the country to face off with the New England Patriots. Both teams fully believe that they have a chance to not only play in, but win the Super Bowl this year. For both, the majority of that faith rests on the play of their quarterback.
New England has been to every single AFC title game since 2011. They have been unstoppable at home in the postseason and with Tom Brady still under center it is hard to doubt them now. Gillette Stadium will be rocking as the reigning NFL MVP starts his playoff campaign in search of his sixth Super Bowl ring.
Philip Rivers has been one of the league’s top quarterbacks for over a decade, but he does not have the accolades to show for it. The quarterback has yet to play in a Super Bowl but 2019 may be his best chance yet. The Chargers’ roster is packed with talent from top to bottom and they are easily one of the most talented teams in football.
Rivers has yet to defeat Brady in the NFL postseason and this could be his final chance. On the other hand, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time has a chance to add to his already expansive trophy case. Two pillars of the AFC will match up for a fantastic NFL divisional match up.
Can Rivers finally beat his adversary? Will Brady win another Super Bowl?
