The Detroit Lions face their most important game to date in the 2019 season on “Monday Night Football.” Not only are they opening their divisional play for the season, but a win in Lambeau would push them to first place in the NFC North—the latest they’ve held that position in a season since 2016.
But the Green Bay Packers are no slouch this year. At 4-1, Green Bay looks like they may have finally gotten the team they need to support Aaron Rodgers and potentially get him another ring. But the Lions have the advantage in the one common opponent the two teams have played: the Eagles.
The transitive property doesn’t really hold water in the NFL. The results happen on the field, not with any math formula. So can the Lions pull off the upset on a national stage or will disappointment set it, like it has so many other times with this franchise?
Here are our picks for “Monday Night Football.”
