Most of the drama surrounding the Detroit Lions’ Week 6 inactives was eliminated on Sunday, when the team announced that tight end T.J. Hockenson cleared concussion protocol and was removed from the injury list. Obviously, he will play tonight against the Green Bay Packers.
In the same news dump, the Lions announced that defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand had been downgraded to out, meaning he won’t play, despite some clear signs of progression during the week of camp. With Mike Daniels already declared out, the Lions will be a little shorthanded in the middle of their defensive line.
But there was one surprise player that popped up as an inactive this week: safety Quandre Diggs. Diggs suffered a hamstring injury early in Week 4 and did not return. He was limited in practice all week and wasn’t doing much early in the week. Now, the Lions will likely rely heavily on veteran Tavon Wilson and rookie Will Harris.
just about everyone else on the injury report will play on “Monday Night Football.” Cornerback Darius Slay will return after missing most and all of Week 4’s game against the Eagles, respectively. Wide receiver Danny Amendola is back, too. And despite having a knee injury A’Shawn Robinson is a go.
For the Packers, there are no surprises. Wide receiver Davante Adams and safety Darnell Savage had already been declared out, so they are inactive.
