Lions - Vikings Week 7 injury report: Da’Shawn Hand has full practice, 5 Lions questionable

The Lions may finally get Hand back this week.

The Detroit Lions have already declared two players out for Sunday’s divisional match against the Minnesota Vikings. It comes as no surprise that defensive tackle Mike Daniels and rookie cornerback Amani Oruwariye will not play, as neither have practiced over the last few weeks.

That being said, five other Lions players are questionable for Sunday’s game: defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand, safety Quandre Diggs, offensive tackle Rick Wagner fullback Nick Bawden, and cornerback Darius Slay.

For Slay and Wagner, the injuries don’t seem serious enough to question their availability this week, as Slay played through his hamstring injury last week and Wagner didn’t appear to be all that limited in practice this week—though he was officially listed as limited until Friday, where he was a full participant.

For Diggs and Hand, it’s a different story. Diggs missed last week with a hamstring injury, and although he clearly was participating more this week in practice, it’s unclear if he’s ready to go for Sunday.

Hand has not played yet this season, but it’s clear he’s very close to playing based on how much he’s doing at practice. In fact, he was listed as a full participant for the first time this year on Friday. Though Detroit didn’t go full contact practice this week, this is the first clear sign that Hand could make his 2019 debut on Sunday.

Fullback Nick Bawden was added to the report on Friday with a back injury. He, too, is questionable.

The Vikings, on the other hand, are nearly perfectly healthy. Both Riley Reiff and Josh Klein were not given injury designations, which means Minnesota will have their full starting lineup on the offensive line. Only linebacker Ben Gedeon has been ruled out for the Vikings.

Here’s a look at the full injury report for both teams:
