NFL Week 8 expert picks: Detroit Lions vs. New York Giants

A look at who we’re picking this week.

NFL: New York Giants at Detroit Lions Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Week 8 of the NFL season is here, which means we’re nearing the halfway point in most teams’ seasons. The contenders are starting to separate themselves from the pretenders. Soon, we’ll be looking at playoff pictures or NFL Draft order watches. Winter is coming and that means the death of postseason hopes is coming for over half of the league.

Two teams that may make that list early are the New York Giants and Detroit Lions. Through 13 collective games, the two teams have combined for just four wins. The Lions are 2-3-1, the Giants are 2-5.

There slightly more hope for the Lions, who have already let two wins slip out of their hands this season, but if they’re going to right the ship, it has to start this week.

Our staff (mostly) believes Detroit gets off their three-game winning streak this week. Check out our picks for Week 8 of the NFL.

Justin Simon (4-2): 28-17 Lions
Alex Reno (3-3): 30-18 Lions
