Detroit Lions Week 10 inactives: Matthew Stafford, Romeo Okwara officially OUT vs. Bears

New, comments

The Lions are beat up... and in the worst places.

NFL: Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

The band-aid was already ripped off on Sunday morning when both Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter dropped the unfortunate news that Matthew Stafford would miss his first game in nine years. According to Schefter, Stafford has broken bones in his back and doctors refused to clear him for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears. Jeff Driskel is expected to start in Stafford’s place now that he is officially INACTIVE.

Additionally, the Lions will be shorthanded on the defensive line. With Da’Shawn Hand already declared out earlier in the week, defensive end Romeo Okwara joins him on the inactive list after suffering a groin injury midweek. The good news is that Mike Daniels is ACTIVE for the first time since suffering a foot injury against the Eagles in Week 3. A’Shawn Robinson and Damon Harrison Sr. are both ACTIVE as well, despite being listed as questionable for this week.

In more good news, Detroit is back to near full health on the offensive line. Both Graham Glasgow and Joe Dahl are active this week. That’s obviously good news for backup quarterback Jeff Driskel, who will be facing a formidable Bears defensive line this week.

Speaking of the defensive line, Eddie Goldman is ACTIVE for the Bears.
