Week 11 injury report: Matthew Stafford, 2 others ruled OUT vs. Dallas Cowboys

But it looks like Tracy Walker has a legit chance to play this week.

As noted earlier in the day by head coach Matt Patricia, Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has been ruled out for Week 11’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. It will be the second consecutive game Stafford has missed with his back and hip injuries.

In addition to Stafford, the Lions have also ruled out defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand and right tackle Rick Wagner, who are dealing with an ankle injury and a concussion respectively.

For Hand, this will be the eighth game he’s missed this season through 11 weeks. He missed the first six games with an elbow injury suffered in training camp. He also missed the final three games of the 2018 season with a knee injury.

As for Wagner, he remains in concussion protocol following a hard helmet-to-helmet collision last week. In his place, Tyrell Crosby is expected to start at right tackle. Crosby started one game at left tackle this year, replacing an injured Taylor Decker at the time.

Patricia noted on Friday just how impressed he is that Crosby can play swing tackle, moving for the left side to the right, with relative ease.

“Crosby I think does an excellent job at it to be honest with you because they are really – I don’t want to say two totally different positions, but they are pretty different,” Patricia said.

Safety Tracy Walker is officially questionable after returning to practice for the first time in a few weeks on Friday. He was listed as a limited participant in practice, but he appeared to be quite active during individual drills.

Ty Johnson, who is working his way through concussion protocol is also questionable, but he was a full participant at practice, suggesting he may be available to play this week.

In addition to Walker and Johnson, Romeo Okwara (groin), Damon Harrison Sr. (groin), Sam Martin (abdomen) andare also questionable.

For the Cowboys, right tackle La’el Collins returned to practice Friday after missing the first two of the week. This opens up the possibility of him playing this week, even though he’s battling both knee and back injuries. Starting left guard Connor Williams has already been declared out, as expected.
