Michigan vs. Michigan State open thread

Who will win? Who will be a massive disappointment? Why can’t this state produce good football anymore?

Who is ready for some more mediocre football in the state of Michigan?

If the 3-5-1 Detroit Lions weren’t enough for you, the 7-2 Wolverines and 4-5 Spartans have you covered.

While UM still obviously has a pretty good record, morale is mostly down after the team got whooped by Wisconsin earlier in the season and couldn’t pull off the upset of Penn State a few weeks back.

MSU, on the other hand, is in free fall. They’ve lost four straight, and while no one would blame them for dropping games against Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State, they inexplicably lost to Illinois last week, despite leading 28-3 in the second quarter.

Of course, for some Spartan fans, beating Michigan this week would cure all ails. It’s the palate cleanser that team desperately needs right now. As for the Wolverines, a loss to a Spartans team in disarray would only increase the pressure currently on head coach Jim Harbaugh.

So if this all interests you, and you have no other place to go, chat about the game right here.

But don’t forget the wonderful coverage of both teams provided by The Only Colors and Maize ‘N Brew.
