Detroit Lions Week 12 inactives: T.J. Hockenson IN, Rashaan Melvin OUT vs. Washington

The Lions’ rookie tight end will play this week after being a late addition to the injury report.

For the Detroit Lions, none of their inactives come as much of a surprise, the Lions had already declared six players out by Friday: quarterback Matthew Stafford, center Frank Ragnow, defensive tackle Da’Shawn Hand, defensive end Trey Flowers, safety Tracy Walker and punt returner Jamal Agnew.

That left just one more spot on the inactive list to fill. The good news is that starting tight end T.J. Hockenson is ACTIVE despite being a late addition to the injury report. However, Rashaan Melvin is inactive, meaning all seven of Detroit’s inactive spots are filled with injured contributors. In fact, that means there’s no guarantee that Hockenson will play. Earlier in the week, the Lions promoted rookie Isaac Nauta from the practice squad, so Detroit has the bodies at the position if need be.

For Washington, despite earlier report, star cornerback Josh Norman is active and will play. Earlier on Sunday, it was believed that Norman was getting scratched after being benched last week.
