The NFL insists on keeping this London tradition going, and—as I just learned a few minutes ago—there’s another game happening Sunday morning.
The more-entertaining-off-the-field-than-on-it Jacksonville Jaguars will face off against the Houston Texans in a matchup that has absolutely nothing to do with the Detroit Lions. It’s an AFC matchup, meaning it will have no playoff implications for Detroit, and there is no clear rooting interest.
But, hey, it technically counts as football, so why wouldn’t you watch? Sure, it comes at an inconvenient time for most of us in the states—especially you poor souls on the west coast—but you all got an extra hour of sleep anyways, so quit complaining, you jerks. In four months, you’ll all be dying of football drought, and when you are, I want you to think about this moment. I want you to think about how you scoffed at this meaningless morning game as a waste of time.
Now you feel bad, don’t you?
Good. Time for football.
