Three more games.
That’s all that is left of the Detroit Lions’ 2019 season. It’s been a year of disappointment and reflection. Going in, it truly seemed like the Lions were headed on the right path, and we would see the benefits of a bold regime change just two years in the rear-view mirror.
Instead, the Lions are 3-9-1, heading for a top-five draft pick, and many are questioning whether this regime even deserves a third year.
It’s a horrible time to be a Lions fan, and maybe even worse than normal, because hope is nearing an all-time low.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in town this week, and while that team is also out of the playoff race all too early, they’re riding a wave of optimism with head coach that is getting visible improvement out of his squad. They’ve got a three-game winning streak on the line, while the Lions are just looking for any signs of life.
