The Detroit Lions will be without three more starters this week as they head to Denver to face the Broncos.
Right tackle Rick Wagner (knee), defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson (shoulder) and linebacker Christian Jones (shoulder) have all been declared OUT for Sunday. All three players missed last week’s game against the Buccaneers, and the Lions will have to play their backups there again.
At right tackle, the Lions are expected to start their swing tackle Tyrell Crosby. The second-year player has done an adequate job filling in either of the tackle roles throughout the entire season. At linebacker, the Lions will likely employ a lot of Jalen Reeves-Maybin and rookie Jahlani Tavai, as starting middle linebacker Jarrad Davis was placed on injured reserve earlier in the week.
At defensive tackle, the Lions are likely to sport some new faces. With Robinson out, Da’Shawn Hand and Mike Daniels on IR, the Lions have had to add a few new defensive tackles. Last week, the Lions signed Frank Herron to the roster, and this week they added Jamie Meder. Both could play on Sunday.
In addition to those three, linebacker Devon Kennard—who returned to practice this on Friday—and Bo Scarbrough are questionable.
Here’s the full injury report for Sunday.
