Bold prediction of the week: Lions defense picks off Lock twice

They couldn’t do it to Jameis, can they do it to Drew Lock?

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Here we go again. Last week, the bold prediction of the week was that the Lions defense would pick off Jameis Winston twice on the day. After Jahlani Tavai snagged a pick on the first drive of the game, it looked like it would certainly happen, but nay the prophecy did not come true.

Could this week be any different? I personally couldn’t tell you, this Lions defense surprises me (not in a good way) in new ways every week. If they’re going to have a multiple pick game, however, this is the week for them to do it.

Drew Lock is a trigger-happy rookie with a cannon for an arm but the accuracy of a... I can’t find a good comparison. He’s not bad per se, but he’s no Drew Brees. If the Lions decide to put some pressure on him on Sunday, it could cause him to get uncomfortable and lead Lock to make some silly mistakes that end with the ball in the hands of a Lions defender. That’s a big if, however—we all know how much Matt Patricia loves bringing pressure on defense.

The Lions certainly aren’t picking off Aaron Rodgers twice in Week 17. I’m pushing hard for this bold prediction, and if it’s gonna come true this season then this is the week.
