Detroit Lions Week 14 inactives: Austin Bryant OUT, Rashaan Melvin IN

The Lions’ fourth-round pick has only played a single game this year.

The Detroit Lions will enter Week 14 a little healthier than in previous weeks. Of course, franchise quarterback Matthew Stafford remains out, but the extra time removed from the Thanksgiving game has afforded Detroit some time to recover.

That being said, rookie fourth-round pick Austin Bryant is OUT after suffering a hip injury during the week of practice. The defensive end is just a few weeks removed from being taken off injured reserve after suffering an upper-body injury during the first couple days of training camp. Since then, Bryant has just played in a single game—logging 16 defensive snaps in the absence of Trey Flowers against Washington. The following week, with Flowers back, Bryant did not play at all, despite not having an injury designation.

However, the Lions will see several players return that missed last week’s game against the Chicago Bears. Cornerback Rashaan Melvin is ACTIVE, which could make things interesting for rookie cornerback Amani Oruwariye, who played well over the past two weeks in his first real NFL action. But returner Jamal Agnew is still out, despite practicing in full on Friday.

Damon Harrison Sr. is also back and ACTIVE after missing a single game with a knee and calf injury.

For the Vikings, one key player is OUT this week: wide receiver Adam Thielen. Left tackle Riley Reiff is ACTIVE despite suffering a concussion on Monday night.
