Wednesday open thread: Which Lions player would you take in the zombie apocalypse?

Let’s answer the question the Lions front office couldn’t.

Monday night was a neat event for Detroit Lions season ticket holders. They were given the rare opportunity to ask general manager Bob Quinn, head coach Matt Patricia or team president Rod Wood a question—something typically only reserved for the media.

For some, it was a chance to air some frustration and deliver it straight to the source. For others, it was an opportunity to try to get some real answers to some lingering questions. Others just wanted to have a good time and make people laugh.

That was the case with one fan, who asked all three of the panel members: Which Lions player would you take in the zombie apocalypse?

Unfortunately, the panel didn’t have an answer. Two of the three guys up there claimed they didn’t know what a zombie apocalypse was. Rod Wood, for some reason, said Matt Prater, because he could kick a field goal in the clutch.

Needless to say, their responses were pretty disappointing. So let’s pick up the conversation where they left off. Today’s Question of the Day is:

Which Lions player would you take in the zombie apocalypse?

My answer: Without a doubt, it’s A’Shawn Robinson.

The man is fierce. The man has a mean streak, and I get the sense he would enjoy bashing in the brains of the infected. I’d also like to think that if it came to a footrace I may be able to... yeah, probably not.

Still, if there’s one person I can picture in the cast of “The Walking Dead,” it’s absolutely A’Shawn Robinson.

Your turn.
